On behalf of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, Her Excellency Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation and the Foreign Minister's Envoy to Ukraine, led the UAE delegation participating in the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026, held in the Polish city of Gdańsk.

The conference, jointly hosted by the governments of Poland and Ukraine, brought together representatives from governments, international institutions, and the private sector, with the aim of unifying global efforts to support Ukraine's recovery, reconstruction, and long-term resilience.

The UAE's participation in the conference for the third consecutive year reflected its unwavering commitment and steadfast support for the Ukrainian people under the leadership of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, and highlighted the UAE's standing as a trusted mediator in advancing diplomatic and humanitarian solutions.

The UAE has successfully facilitated 24 prisoner exchange rounds, bringing the total number of prisoners exchanged between the two countries through UAE mediation efforts to 7,471. The UAE also hosted in Abu Dhabi two rounds of trilateral talks between the United States, Ukraine, and Russia during January and February 2026.

On the humanitarian front, the UAE provided medical, food, and energy sector support, in addition to power generators, laptops, and school supplies, through relief flights and sea shipments, and continues to work with European partners to strengthen educational continuity and economic resilience in Ukraine.

The UAE's commitment is equally reflected on the economic front, through the signing of a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement in 2025, scheduled to enter into force in July 2026, representing a demonstration of confidence in Ukraine's resilience and its long-term role in global food security, logistics, and investment.

Earlier this year, the UAE–Ukraine Joint Committee convened in Abu Dhabi, bringing together approximately 30 entities from the public and private sectors across areas including trade, energy, logistics, and agriculture, to explore prospects for multifaceted economic partnerships.

As part of strengthening business ties with Ukraine's private sector, Her Excellency visited the Ukrainian companies' pavilions at the conference and met with a number of business leaders exhibiting in key sectors, including technology, agriculture, logistics, and infrastructure.

On the sidelines of the conference, Her Excellency met with Her Excellency Yulia Svyrydenko, Prime Minister of Ukraine, and His Excellency Oleksiy Sobolev, Ukraine's Minister of Economy and Environment and Agriculture, to discuss new frameworks for joint economic partnerships across various fields in conjunction with the activation of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement.

Her Excellency Al Hashimy also held meetings with a number of European and international partners, including His Excellency Radosław Sikorski, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Poland, during which she expressed gratitude to Poland for its joint hosting of the conference and for Warsaw's steadfast supportive position toward the UAE during the Iranian aggression against it.

She also met with His Excellency Margus Tsahkna, Foreign Minister of Estonia, His Excellency James Lawless, Ireland's Minister for Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, and Fernando Brun, Argentina's Under-Secretary for International Economic Relations, to discuss regional developments and joint efforts in support of Ukraine's recovery.

Her Excellency's participation affirmed that the UAE's commitment to Ukraine is not measured by the number of conferences it attends, but by the trust built and the joint partnerships established.
