The UAE response team visited a shelter centre for victims of the earthquake that struck Sarangani Province in the south of the Republic of the Philippines, reviewing the progress of work at the field hospital and inspecting the conditions of displaced persons and residents at the shelter centres to assess their urgent humanitarian needs.
As part of the UAE's emergency humanitarian response to support earthquake victims and mitigate the effects of the disaster, the team followed up on the medical and treatment services being provided at the field hospital and assessed affected cases to ensure that the necessary support and assistance is delivered as quickly as possible.
Mohamed Obaid Al Qatam Al Zaabi, the UAE Ambassador to the Republic of the Philippines, said the visit comes within the framework of the UAE's ongoing humanitarian efforts to support those affected by the earthquake, and reflects the country's firm approach to extending a helping hand to peoples affected by disasters and humanitarian crises.
It is worth noting that the UAE has worked to diversify its relief assistance to earthquake victims, encompassing food supplies, essential items, and urgent humanitarian aid, as part of its active contribution to international efforts aimed at reducing the humanitarian repercussions left by the earthquake in Sarangani Province.
