A delegation from the World Association for Humanitarian Work, led by Dr. Khalid Abdul Wahhab Al Khajah, Secretary-General of the association, is conducting a field visit to the Syrian Arab Republic to inspect projects implemented during previous visits and to carry out new charitable and developmental projects in a number of the most needy governorates and areas.
Dr. Khalid Abdul Wahhab Al Khajah said that this visit comes within the framework of the association's ongoing efforts to support vulnerable and affected families, and to transition relief efforts from emergency response to sustainable projects. He noted that the current package of projects covers multiple sectors.
Chief among these are the maintenance of water wells and securing clean drinking water sources, the renovation and rehabilitation of schools and mosques, support for the health sector, as well as orphan sponsorship programmes, the distribution of food parcels to those in need, and other initiatives.
He extended deep gratitude to the wise leadership, which has consistently supported the public benefit sector with all forms of support, and to male and female donors across the United Arab Emirates, whose generous contributions have reached every affected and needy person. He affirmed the association's firm commitment to extending a helping hand to the people of Syria, as an embodiment of the UAE's authentic spirit of giving and the directives of its wise leadership in supporting communities that have suffered from wars, especially brotherly peoples.
