Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, affirmed that the UAE will remain committed to working side by side with its partners to promote peace, security, stability, trust, and development at the global level.

He made the remarks in a speech delivered during his participation on Wednesday in the 52nd G7 summit, hosted by the French Republic in the city of Évian from 15 to 17 of this month.

The summit was attended by the leaders of the G7 member states — the French Republic, the United States of America, the Italian Republic, the Federal Republic of Germany, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Japan — alongside a number of countries participating as guests.

In his address, Sheikh Mohamed said: "It gives me great pleasure to express my sincere appreciation to His Excellency Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, for the warm hospitality and the generous invitation to take part in this summit. I am also delighted to meet friends and partners and to be with you today amid these formidable challenges."

He added: "We gather today at a time when our region is experiencing profound turmoil and an unprecedented wave of accelerating challenges, the effects of which extend beyond our region's borders to affect all parts of the world.

We also express our appreciation to the G7 members and our partners around the world for the various forms of support they provided at a time when my country was defending itself against thousands of treacherous Iranian missile and drone attacks on civilian targets over six consecutive weeks."

Sheikh Mohamed said: "The crisis we are living through today has proven that current challenges require the pooling of efforts and working together with others, not in isolation from them.

It also confirms that resilient supply chains, secure trade routes, and highly efficient infrastructure are indispensable pillars for strengthening our capacity to prosper. It further affirms that preserving global stability is not merely a shared interest, but a collective responsibility that falls on all of us."

In this context, Sheikh Mohamed commended the efforts of His Excellency Donald Trump, President of the United States of America, which contributed to reaching the agreement on a memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran. He stressed that lasting and sustainable peace in the region rests on respect for the sovereignty of states, the principles of good neighbourliness, and full adherence to the rules of international law, in ways that enhance security, stability, and prosperity for all.

The President of the UAE said there are immense opportunities before us to expand cooperation in the fields that will drive progress in the future, including the energy transition, artificial intelligence, and economic development — areas in which the UAE has been a reliable partner with a forward-looking vision.

He affirmed that "our participation today embodies our commitment to continuing to strengthen this partnership, and to investing in innovation, connectivity, and adaptability as fundamental pillars of a more prosperous future."

He added: "We are confident that this summit will serve as a catalyst for deepening our cooperation in these areas, contributing to cementing stability and advancing achievements and prosperity across our regions."

Sheikh Mohamed also posted on his account on X: "I participated in the G7 summit in France, and I thank His Excellency President Macron for his generous invitation. The participation was an important opportunity for dialogue and the exchange of views on the situation in the Middle East, and on the importance of working towards sustainable peace in the region. It embodied the UAE's approach as an active partner in engaging with shared global objectives and challenges, and in seizing every available opportunity for a more stable, secure, and prosperous future for its people and the peoples of the world."
