Under the directives of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Khalifa Educational Award, the Award's General Secretariat — one of the institutions of the Zayed Humanitarian Heritage Foundation — announced yesterday the launch of the 20th edition for the year 2026–2027.

This edition includes, for the first time since the Award's journey began in 2007, a new category for innovation and artificial intelligence in education, reflecting the directives of the country's wise leadership regarding the deployment of advanced technology and artificial intelligence across various fields to enhance human quality of life and wellbeing.

The Award's General Secretariat noted that the 20th edition encompasses 10 fields distributed across 18 categories covering a wide range of educational, applied, and community domains at the local, Arab, and international levels. It confirmed that applications from nominees for the new edition are now being accepted until 31 December.

Hamid Al Houti, Secretary-General of the Khalifa Educational Award, underscored the importance of this edition, through which the Award completes two decades of educational, academic, and community excellence as a pioneering national initiative that launched in 2007 bearing a comprehensive message of excellence in the field of education.
