The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has launched the first episode of its awareness video series 'Today I Discovered!', aimed at familiarising students with the new capabilities offered by the updated Unified Registration and Admissions Platform, and enhancing their ability to plan their academic pathways early and make informed university decisions based on a clear understanding of available options.

The series coincides with the Ministry's launch of the enhanced version of the Unified Registration and Admissions Platform, developed in cooperation and coordination with the Ministry of Education, to provide a comprehensive digital experience powered by artificial intelligence technologies. The platform covers all stages of the student journey, from exploring academic programmes and specialisations, through registration procedures, to uploading documents and tracking admissions applications electronically.

The first episode spotlighted a key concept related to the platform's use, clarifying that it is not limited to Grade 12 students seeking to enrol in higher education institutions, but also allows students in Grades 10 and 11 to explore universities, specialisations, and admissions requirements — helping them build an early vision of their educational pathways and make more informed choices.

The new platform provides dedicated digital interfaces for students, schools, and higher education institutions, and integrates with the systems of the Ministry of Education and relevant government entities, including UAE PASS, to facilitate easier data exchange, information verification, and a more efficient and seamless registration experience.

The platform also allows Grade 12 students and above to create a unified personal profile and apply to more than one higher education institution through simplified digital procedures, without the need to re-enter data, in addition to uploading documents electronically and tracking the status of applications and admissions decisions through the platform.

The platform currently includes 74 public and private higher education institutions, among them the three federal universities: United Arab Emirates University, Higher Colleges of Technology, and Zayed University. More than 40,000 male and female students are expected to benefit from the updated version during the first phase of its implementation.
