The Ministry of Education announced yesterday the results of Grade 12 students for the 2025–2026 academic year via the Student Portal during the morning period, and also announced results for Grades 9 through 11 during the evening period. The ministry is continuing today to release results according to the approved timetable for electronic announcement.

School administrations confirmed that students were able to view their results easily through the Student Portal, noting that results were generally positive, with high pass rates recorded across various tracks, amid a mood of relief among students and parents.

The administrations explained that schools began following up on student and parent enquiries from the moment results were announced, providing the necessary support regarding the issuance of electronic certificates, as well as clarifying the make-up exam procedures for eligible students.

The Ministry of Education had previously specified that Grade 12 students would be able to print their electronic certificates via the Student Portal, enabling them to complete their academic and university application procedures with ease.

In response to numerous enquiries from Grade 12 students and their parents regarding the absence of an overall grade point average from end-of-year results for 2025–2026, both government and private schools implementing the Ministry of Education curriculum clarified that the Student Portal displays subject scores only, while the overall average appears when the end-of-year certificate is issued and printed for students who have met the requirements for promotion.

The schools' clarification came as Grade 12 results were made available on the Student Portal, with schools confirming that the absence of the overall average on the portal is a standard procedure and does not indicate any problem with the result, as it will be automatically included in the end-of-year certificate once it becomes available for printing.

Schools informed parents that the printed end-of-year certificate will include the overall average for students who have fulfilled promotion requirements, stressing that subject results would be available to students immediately upon announcement, while the overall average would appear only on the final certificate — an answer to the many students who noticed the average was absent from the results page on the Student Portal.

Schools also urged students who face difficulty accessing the Student Portal due to not having received their login credentials or having forgotten their password to contact the school administration, or to reach out to the Ministry of Education's technical support team via email at SD@MOE.GOV.AE to recover their login details and be able to view their results and print their certificate.

Schools further clarified the meaning of symbols that may appear in the results, explaining that the symbol (–) means the student is required to sit a make-up exam in that subject, while the symbol (*) indicates incomplete grades; in such cases, the student will not be able to print the end-of-year certificate until all grades have been completed and approved.

Schools stressed that all result announcement and certificate issuance procedures are carried out electronically via the Student Portal, urging students and parents to adhere to the specified dates for viewing results and printing certificates, and wishing all students continued success.

The Ministry of Education confirmed that make-up exams represent the final opportunity for students in Grades 4 through 12 who have not achieved the minimum pass mark in Group A subjects, stressing that there is no alternative exam or compensatory period even in the event of absence with an accepted excuse.

The ministry explained, in its frequently asked questions guide for the end of the school year, that make-up exams cover Group A subjects only, which are: Arabic Language, Islamic Education, Social Studies, English Language, Mathematics, Science, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology.

It stated that a student's promotion to the next grade requires passing all Group A subjects and achieving the minimum pass mark — 50% for students in Grades 4 through 8, and 60% for students in Grades 9 through 12 — provided that unexcused absences do not exceed 15 days during the academic year.

Absence days are counted before and after school holidays, during the final two weeks of the second term, and during examination periods, with each day of absence during exams counting as 2 days.

The ministry noted that a student who fails to meet promotion requirements — whether by not passing Group A subjects or by exceeding the permitted number of unexcused absences — will repeat the year. It also pointed out that certificate issuance may be deferred or withheld in the event of outstanding requirements, such as financial obligations, unreturned school devices, incomplete registration data, or failure to complete the medical examination for national service, urging students and parents to liaise with their schools before certificates are issued in order to complete all required procedures.
