The Ministry of Education has approved the timetables for resit examinations for students in grades 4 to 12 at government and private schools following the ministry's curriculum for the 2025–2026 academic year. The exams are scheduled to take place from 14 to 17 July, according to timetables that vary by grade, educational track, and examination format.
Under the approved timetables, resit exams begin on Tuesday, 14 July, with mathematics in the morning session, followed by Arabic in the second session. On Wednesday, 15 July, students will sit the English language exam and then the science subject prescribed for each track, covering either general science or chemistry depending on the grade and track. Thursday, 16 July is allocated for physics or science exams alongside Islamic education, while the exams conclude on Friday, 17 July with biology and social studies for grades whose curricula include those two subjects.
The ministry noted that the timetables cover all educational tracks — General, Advanced, Elite, and Applied — taking into account the nature of subjects in each track. The timetables also reflect differences in examination format between grades: grade 4 students will sit their exams on paper, while exams for grades 5 through 12 will be conducted electronically.
Schools, in messages addressed to students and parents, confirmed that a (-) mark appearing in a student's results means the subject has not been passed and that the student is required to sit the resit exam. They stressed that resit exams represent the final opportunity to improve a result, and that no additional exams will be held for students who are absent or do not sit them.
Schools added that student results will be available through the Ministry of Education's electronic student portal, urging students to adhere to resit exam schedules and prepare for them as the final opportunity to fulfil the requirements for passing and progressing to the next grade.
The resit exams form part of the assessment framework approved by the Ministry of Education, giving students who have not met the passing requirements in certain subjects a final opportunity to improve their results and complete the academic year in accordance with the applicable regulations and procedures.
