A total of 2,700 male and female students from various public and private schools across all age groups will participate in the activities of the summer camp 'Our Distinctive Summer 2026', organised by the UAE Scouts Association, represented by the Dubai Scouts Commissariat, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education.

The camp will run throughout July and August at Al Mizhar Sports Hall in Al Twar (3) district, as part of a comprehensive national programme combining education, innovation, technology, sport, and community values in a safe educational and recreational environment.

The camp offers an integrated training programme focused on human development above all else.

Dr Khalil Rahma, Secretary-General of the UAE Scouts Association and overall supervisor of the camp, affirmed that 'Our Distinctive Summer 2026' represents a qualitative leap in the concept of summer programmes aimed at children and youth.

He said it has been designed according to a comprehensive national vision focused on developing the individual, building future skills, and cementing national and human values, in line with the directives of the wise leadership to invest in human capital as the fundamental pillar of the sustainable development journey.

He explained that the association was keen to develop a distinctive summer programme combining scouting education, modern learning, technology, sport, culture, and voluntary work, so that participants experience an integrated journey blending learning, application, adventure, and enjoyment all at once.

He added that the programme is not limited to recreational activities, but aims to equip participants with more than 30 practical skills needed by today's student and tomorrow's leader, through specialised programmes in artificial intelligence, robotics, innovation, leadership, digital media, life skills, teamwork, first aid, and general safety, alongside sporting and scouting activities that contribute to character building and boosting self-confidence.

For his part, Adviser Mohammed Al Rida, member of the board of directors of the UAE Scouts Association and chairman of the Safeguarding Committee, affirmed that the safety of participants is the camp's foremost priority.

He stated that all programmes and activities are implemented in accordance with a comprehensive safeguarding system based on the UAE Scouts Association's policies and the standards approved by the World Scout Organisation, ensuring a safe educational and developmental environment for all participants.

He explained that the Safeguarding Committee has prepared a comprehensive plan encompassing the training of all trainers, supervisors, and volunteers on the code of conduct, prevention mechanisms, reporting procedures, and case response, in addition to applying precise procedures for selecting operational staff and monitoring the implementation of activities in accordance with the highest standards of quality and safety.

He noted that the programme also includes raising participants' awareness of their rights and duties, and promoting a culture of mutual respect, privacy, anti-bullying, and the safe use of technology, thereby contributing to the creation of a positive environment that enhances students' psychological and social development.

Mohammed Ibrahim, member of the board of directors of the Dubai Scouts Commissariat and media coordinator of the camp's media committee, affirmed that the camp constitutes a leading national platform bringing together government institutions, the private sector, and volunteers within a comprehensive community partnership that presents an advanced model for sustainable summer programmes.
