The University of Dubai has achieved a new milestone in the QS World University Rankings 2027, advancing 100 places globally to the 781–790 band, up from the 851–900 band in the previous ranking, and placing among the top 100 universities in the Arab region.

This achievement reflects the university's commitment to academic excellence, scientific research and innovation, and enhancing graduate employment opportunities, cementing its standing among the most prominent higher education institutions in the United Arab Emirates and the region.

On the occasion, University President Dr. Issa Al Bastaki congratulated members of both the academic and administrative bodies on their success in maintaining the quality of education and international academic standards, and on attaining this advanced ranking.

He affirmed that the university's continuous progress in global rankings is the result of developing its scientific research ecosystem, supporting faculty members, strengthening international partnerships, and linking research outputs to priority issues for society both locally and globally.

He said that the most notable aspect of this year's results is the progress the university achieved in the citations-per-faculty indicator, noting that this indicator measures the impact of the university's scientific output on the global research community and reflects the rising citation rates, quality, and international influence of research published by faculty members.

He added that the university has made progress across several indicators, including the international research network indicator, the academic reputation indicator, and the employer reputation indicator — all of which are based on global opinion surveys regarding the quality of academic institutions and the readiness of their graduates for the labour market.
