Sheikh Ahmed bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Deputy Ruler of Umm Al Quwain, has affirmed that education is a fundamental pillar in building human capacity and shaping the future, and that investing in national talent represents an entrenched approach pursued by the United Arab Emirates under the leadership of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, to prepare generations equipped with knowledge, the capacity for innovation, and the ability to compete globally.
His Highness made these remarks while attending the graduation ceremony of the 'Pride and Eminence' cohort for the 2025–2026 academic year, organised by the British Applied College at the Cultural Centre in Umm Al Quwain, in the presence of a number of officials, parents, and members of the academic and administrative staff.
His Highness noted that the nation's celebration of its graduates reflects the standing accorded to the education sector within the comprehensive development journey, and its role in preparing national talents capable of sustaining the march of achievement and enhancing the country's competitiveness across various fields.

The ceremony opened with the playing of the UAE national anthem, followed by the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. A documentary film was then screened, highlighting the college's key milestones and academic achievements, as well as the development of its educational programmes and strategic partnerships.
In his address, the Executive Dean of the British Applied College, Ahmed Jamal Al Sufi, affirmed that the graduation of the 'Pride and Eminence' cohort embodies the fruit of the college's vision to prepare cadres possessing the knowledge and skills required to keep pace with future demands.
He noted that the college achieved a qualitative leap during the current academic year, encompassing growth in student numbers, development of teaching laboratories, and expansion of partnerships with government and private entities, alongside support for student participation in scientific competitions and national initiatives — all of which enhances their readiness for the labour market and qualifies them for competition and innovation. He called on the graduates to pursue lifelong learning, to uphold the values of the UAE, and to make this achievement the beginning of a journey filled with dedication and excellence.
