The Ministry of Education has begun assessing the educational impact of the artificial intelligence curriculum, which was implemented for the first time in government schools during the 2025–2026 academic year, through two surveys directed at students in the second and third cycles and their parents, with the aim of measuring the level of benefit derived from the curriculum and developing it in the coming years.
Government schools have circulated the two surveys to parents and students, urging them to complete both, as part of efforts to measure the extent to which the curriculum is achieving its educational and knowledge objectives, monitor its impact on developing digital skills and critical thinking, and gather observations and suggestions that contribute to developing the content and teaching methods.
The student survey focuses on measuring their level of understanding of artificial intelligence concepts and applications, the extent to which the curriculum contributes to developing creative thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills, as well as evaluating their engagement with the educational activities and projects associated with the subject.
The parent survey measures the curriculum's impact on their children's technical and digital skills, the extent to which it promotes responsible and ethical use of artificial intelligence applications, and also invites their suggestions for developing the curriculum.
The artificial intelligence curriculum is one of the most recent national educational initiatives. Its implementation began with the start of the current academic year for government school students from kindergarten through to Grade 12, with the aim of preparing students to engage with modern technologies, developing critical thinking skills, and qualifying them for future careers related to artificial intelligence.
Prior to the curriculum's implementation, more than 1,000 male and female teachers were trained through specialised programmes to ensure the effective use of artificial intelligence tools within the educational environment and the achievement of the curriculum's targets.
