Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, attended a dinner hosted by the Royal European Academy of Doctors in Spain, in cooperation with the Academy of Diplomacy of the Kingdom of Spain and the Consular Corps in Barcelona.

The dinner was held in honour of the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah in recognition of his distinguished career and in appreciation of his efforts, coinciding with his visit to the Kingdom of Spain. The Royal European Academy of Doctors in Spain had previously awarded him the Gold Medal of Honour in recognition of his outstanding leadership and prominent contributions to the field of higher education, as well as his charitable efforts that have contributed to the development of higher education and scientific research.

His Highness delivered a speech at the dinner in which he said: "It gives me particular pleasure to conclude our visit — having begun it by celebrating the achievements of our graduates at the University of Barcelona — and to end it today among this distinguished gathering, enjoying your generous hospitality and warm reception."

The President of the University of Sharjah noted that the visit to Spain reflected the shared belief between the two countries and their educational institutions in the power of education to shape the future and improve the lives of many, affirming that advancing education and scientific research is a shared responsibility and a permanent investment in humanity.

His Highness added: "By supporting the production of knowledge, innovation, and academic excellence, we empower future generations to confront global challenges and drive meaningful progress. It is precisely this mission, and the Academy's steadfast commitment to it, that makes this honour from them particularly meaningful to me."

The President of the University of Sharjah extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Royal European Academy of Doctors in Spain for the prestigious honour, noting that receiving recognition from an institution that has dedicated its efforts to advancing knowledge, culture, and international cooperation is an honour he will always cherish deeply.

Dr Santiago Velo de, Executive President of the Academy of Diplomacy of the Kingdom of Spain, delivered a speech in which he welcomed the President of the University of Sharjah and those in attendance, addressing the Academy's efforts and its most prominent initiatives in support of diplomatic work, as well as the admission of new members to support the Academy's mission and initiatives.
