The Advanced Technology Research Council has announced the successful conclusion of the first edition of its Schools Programme.

This pioneering educational initiative, designed to prepare the next generation of scientists, engineers and technology leaders, aims to support Abu Dhabi's intelligence-based economy and its ambition to become the world's first government fully powered by artificial intelligence by 2027.

The Advanced Technology Research Council's Schools Programme was developed in partnership with researchers from the Technology Innovation Institute, the council's applied research arm, to deliver a year-long educational initiative.

Abdulaziz Al Dousari, Executive Director of Supporting Services at the Advanced Technology Research Council, said the programme demonstrates the enormous potential that can be realised when students are brought closer to advanced science and technology and to the people driving discovery.

He expressed pride in having engaged more than 5,000 students across Abu Dhabi, contributing to the preparation of the next generation of science, technology, engineering and mathematics talent capable of strengthening national research and development capabilities.

Dr. Mai Al Mansouri, Director of Research and Development Talent Enablement at the Advanced Technology Research Council, said the council's goal is to give young people direct exposure to the science and technology shaping the future.
