His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, has been briefed on the University of Fujairah's educational programmes and its distinguished initiatives in the fields of scientific research, innovation, and community service, as well as its efforts to develop the educational environment and enhance the quality of academic outcomes in line with best international practices and the needs of the labour market.
This came during a visit he paid to the University of Fujairah, during which he met His Excellency Saeed bin Mohammed Al Raqbani, Vice Chairman of the University's Board of Trustees, and Dr Suleiman Al Jasim, President of the University of Fujairah.
The visit falls within the university's efforts to strengthen partnerships with national leadership and to showcase its academic and research achievements, development projects, and its role in preparing generations equipped with the knowledge and skills needed for effective participation in the UAE's development and progress.
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak listened to a presentation on the university's journey, strategic vision, and future plans, as well as its academic and research accomplishments. He was also briefed on a number of development projects being implemented by the university and its programmes aimed at empowering students and honing their scientific and practical skills, alongside initiatives designed to strengthen partnerships with government and private institutions in support of sustainable development and the consolidation of a knowledge economy.
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan toured the university's modern facilities, including classrooms, educational and research laboratories, and various academic amenities, where he was familiarised with the advanced equipment provided to students, the modern educational systems adopted to support the teaching process and scientific research, and the integrated learning environment that contributes to preparing qualified national cadres capable of competition, creativity, and innovation.
His Excellency praised the academic and institutional development witnessed by the University of Fujairah and the distinguished achievements it has realised in the fields of education, scientific research, and community service, affirming that investment in education and human development represents the fundamental pillar of the comprehensive national development journey.
He commended the efforts of the university's administration and the members of its academic and administrative bodies in providing an educational environment that fosters excellence and creativity, noting the importance of the role played by higher education institutions in preparing generations capable of keeping pace with global changes and contributing effectively to building an economy based on knowledge and innovation.
He affirmed that national universities are a key partner in realising the UAE's vision and future aspirations through preparing qualified national competencies, strengthening the scientific research ecosystem, and entrenching a culture of innovation and excellence — all of which supports the journey of sustainable development and consolidates the nation's leading position at both regional and global levels.
Dr Suleiman Al Jasim, President of the University of Fujairah, affirmed that the visit by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan to the university reflects the great importance that the wise leadership attaches to the education sector as one of the most significant pillars of national development.
