The American University of Sharjah celebrated the achievements of its Spring 2026 graduating class — the largest in the institution's history — during two commencement ceremonies held at the University City Hall in Sharjah, in the presence of Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, President of the American University of Sharjah.
The occasion marked a milestone for 842 graduates, as students gathered with their families, faculty and administrative staff, and university guests to celebrate the conclusion of their academic journey and the beginning of a new chapter within the university's global alumni community.
Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi said: "Graduation does not represent the end of a learning journey, but the beginning of a new phase filled with opportunities and responsibilities. The Spring 2026 graduates leave the American University of Sharjah at a time when the world is undergoing profound transformations, equipped with the knowledge, confidence, and ability to shape the future with integrity and responsibility.
Today's world needs change-makers — people with the will and capacity to devise solutions to the challenges we face, strengthen human cohesion, and contribute meaningfully to serving society. We take pride at the university in preparing our graduates to be at the forefront of those who drive this positive impact and build a better future for their communities and for the world."
The university also honoured academic excellence during both ceremonies, with the President's Cup awarded to Timothy Joseph in Computer Engineering, Abdullah Mohammed Saleh in Electrical Engineering, and Joud Hamdan in Mathematics, all of whom achieved a perfect cumulative GPA of 4.00.
The Provost's Cup, which recognises academic distinction and outstanding contribution to student life, was awarded to Mohammed Fidha in Industrial Engineering and Sanjana Bharvani in Management. The honour celebrates students who distinguished themselves through leadership, community service, student engagement, and a positive impact on their peers.
