The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai (GDRFA Dubai) celebrated the recognition of its 'Domestic Labour Regulation' experience as the best 'Digital City Experience' under the Hamdan bin Mohammed Programme for Government Services — a new achievement added to GDRFA Dubai's record of leadership in digital government services, affirming its ability to translate national visions into practical experiences that touch people's daily lives.
The ceremony was held in the presence of His Excellency Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai; Mohammed Rashid bin Taliah, Assistant Minister for Cabinet Affairs for Government Knowledge Exchange; and Thani Abdullah Al Zaffin, Director General and Board Member of Emaratech.
Also present were Dr Amer Ahmed Sharif, Executive Director of Dubai Health; Iman Al Suwaidi, Director of the Assessment and Studies Department at the Secretariat of the Executive Council; Mohammed Samer Al Helou, Director General of Dubai Insurance Company; and Assistant Directors General at GDRFA Dubai, along with a number of leaders, officials, work teams, and partners who contributed to the development, implementation, and achievement of the project.
His Excellency Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai, affirmed that what was achieved through the efforts of the work team and the distinguished partnership between departments, authorities, and ministries is the fruit of genuine cooperation that enabled them to deliver an integrated service bringing together five entities in a single journey.
He added: "The next phase aims to unify government services through a single window," stressing that this ambition represents a consistent approach for GDRFA Dubai and that it is steadily working towards achieving it. In closing his remarks, he extended his thanks to those present, expressing appreciation to all who honoured the ceremony with their attendance.
For his part, Expert Colonel Khalid Ahmed bin Madiyah Al Falasi, Assistant Director General for Digital Services Affairs at GDRFA Dubai, affirmed that the 'Domestic Labour Regulation' experience reflects the capacity of digital services to build a more interconnected ecosystem among entities, allowing customers to move through the stages of the service with clarity and ease, without needing to deal with fragmented procedures or multiple channels.
