The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has announced its participation in the third edition of the Dubai Dates Festival 2026, organised by the Hamdan bin Mohammed Heritage Centre this month.
The participation is part of the Authority's efforts to highlight the significance of the date palm in local collective memory, and to raise awareness of the date harvest season and the social and cultural customs and values associated with it — traditions that have formed an integral part of community life. Dubai Culture also revealed that Al Shindagha Museum, the largest heritage museum in the UAE, is sponsoring the 'Largest Adhaj – Dubai' category within the festival's official competition.
In this context, the museum will organise a cultural programme from 18 to 26 July, comprising a series of workshops, experiences, and interactive activities that spotlight the value of the date palm and showcase the cultural and social significance of the date season.
Abdullah Al Obaidli, Director of Al Shindagha Museum, underscored the importance of the museum's participation in the Dubai Dates Festival 2026, describing it as one of the most prominent heritage events aimed at acquainting new generations with the UAE's cultural legacy. He said: "The date season is an important social occasion associated with many traditions that contribute to reinforcing the values of cooperation, solidarity, and communication among members of the community."
