Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of Al Wasl Sports Club, has affirmed that Dubai, under the leadership of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, initiates, delivers, and then raises the bar of ambition anew. In a post on his personal account on the X platform, as part of the 'Dubai of Action' initiative, he added that achievement is a working method in Dubai, and every achievement is the beginning of what comes after it.
Sheikh Ahmed affirmed that the successful athlete does not wait for an opportunity but creates it, pointing at the same time to some of the sporting achievements accomplished in Dubai, and said: We founded Al Wasl Club for it to become today one of the pillars of sport in Dubai, and we built the Jebel Ali racecourse before Dubai rose to lead the global scene in horse racing.
He added: We launched the Dubai International Marine Sports Club before the region knew marine championships of this level, and before its champions raised the UAE flag on world podiums. We did not wait for the world's attention; rather, we competed, innovated, and worked until the world began to anticipate what we create and draw inspiration from our achievements.
