The Museum of the Future has announced the start of work on developing a new generation of future experiences, inspired by ideas and insights shared by individuals from around the world, as part of its preparations to offer a renewed experience reflecting the latest scientific, technological and societal transformations.
Work on developing the museum's experiences will begin in mid-September 2026, with an official unveiling planned for the first quarter of 2027, coinciding with the fifth anniversary of its opening.
The announcement follows a global call recently launched by the museum, inviting the public to contribute ideas and proposals to help design the next generation of its interactive experiences.
The museum received more than 1,000 ideas and proposals via social media, from diverse communities, disciplines and countries, reflecting worldwide interest in envisioning the future and the opportunities it holds. Drawing on these ideas and future visions, the Museum of the Future has begun developing a renewed narrative and a new generation of immersive interactive experiences that explore the scientific, technological and societal transformations set to shape humanity's future.
The broad global participation by the public, responding to the museum's invitation to share their ideas, reflects exceptional levels of creativity, ambition and optimism across different communities and cultures, in line with the museum's role in inspiring people to engage with the future and involving them in shaping its transformations and developments.
This phase represents a new milestone in the museum's journey, through which it continues to redefine how individuals interact with the future and the opportunities and possibilities it holds. The new experiences currently being developed will offer visitors more interactive levels of engagement, enabling them to explore the opportunities and challenges that will shape the coming decades.
The Museum of the Future will announce further details about its new phase in the coming months, including the future experiences and programmes it will offer.
Since its opening in February 2022, the Museum of the Future has continued to cement Dubai's position as a global hub for futures foresight and innovation, and as a platform bringing together scientists, researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs and creatives from around the world to explore the ideas and technologies shaping the future of humanity.
