Hala Badri, Director General of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), has affirmed that World Youth Skills Day 2026, held under the theme 'Skills for a Shared Future', represents an occasion to celebrate the achievements of young people and their pivotal role in building the future, and to raise awareness of the importance of investing in their skills and capabilities, as the true wealth of the nation and the driving force of change and innovation.
She said: "Youth are the foundation of the nation's renaissance — a nation that has believed in their abilities and the energy and competencies they possess, and has, through its far-sighted visions, been committed to investing in them, empowering them, and encouraging them to contribute to the journey of building and development, in a way that enhances the UAE's competitiveness and consolidates its global standing. This vision has been reflected in the successes achieved by young people across various sectors, foremost among them the culture and creative industries sector, thanks to their ambitions, innovative ideas, and ever-evolving skills."
Badri noted that Dubai Culture is keen to empower youth and develop their skills and hone their expertise, by providing a supportive environment that stimulates creativity and continuous learning, affirming that Emirati youth have proven their ability to make a positive impact on society, achieve qualitative accomplishments in cultural and creative fields, and work with an ambitious forward-looking vision.
She added: "Youth represent 24.2% of the Authority's employees, and they are given ample space to participate in shaping strategies, managing projects and initiatives, and contributing to defining the future of the cultural sector, in line with the Authority's priorities and responsibilities in supporting young talent, encouraging them to express their ideas and viewpoints, and contributing to enriching the cultural momentum that Dubai is witnessing."
