The Dubai Women's Association, represented by its Social and Health Events Department under the 'Tumuh' initiative, has announced the launch of two new community councils: the 'Athar' Council for Families of People of Determination, under the motto 'With aware families, we create a lasting impact', and the Youth Nukhbat Al Himam Council, under the motto 'Determination creates impact… and a future led by empowerment'. The launch comes in line with the association's efforts to align with the Dubai Social Agenda 33 and the Dubai Strategy for People of Determination.

The two councils form an integrated platform that combines support for families on one hand with the empowerment of young people of determination on the other, through advisory and voluntary frameworks that help transform real-life experiences into innovative initiatives that enhance quality of life and entrench values of inclusion and community sustainability.

Dr. Fatima Al Falasi, Director General of the Dubai Women's Association, affirmed that the launch of the two councils embodies the association's vision of placing families and young people of determination at the heart of the development process and community decision-making. She noted that true empowerment begins by creating a space for them to express their needs and participate in designing solutions that touch their reality and aspirations.

The 'Athar' Council for Families of People of Determination aims to empower families cognitively, psychologically, and socially, enhance quality of life and family stability, and build a sustainable support network.

The council also seeks to promote the exchange of experiences between families with inspiring stories and those newly embarking on the journey, and to contribute to the development of initiatives and services tailored to them, alongside strengthening partnerships with government and private entities.

The Youth Nukhbat Al Himam Council, meanwhile, seeks to empower young people of determination to develop their leadership and community skills, involve them in decision-making, and enhance their participation in designing initiatives and innovative solutions — thereby entrenching a culture of innovation and voluntary work and reinforcing their role as influential leaders in society.
