Dubai Police General Headquarters and Al-Futtaim Group, the exclusive agent of BYD in the United Arab Emirates, have launched the second generation of 'Ghiyath' smart patrol vehicles, in a move that reflects their commitment to adopting the latest modern technologies, artificial intelligence and global innovations in the field of enhancing the smart security transport system, in line with Dubai's drive towards leadership in security, sustainability and smart mobility.
The launch was attended by His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police; Stella Li, Executive Vice President of BYD; Omar Al-Futtaim, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Al-Futtaim Group; and Major General Hareb Al Shamssi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police for Criminal Sector Affairs.
Also in attendance were Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations Affairs; Major General Rashid Al Falasi, Director of the General Administration of Transport and Rescue; and a number of officers and staff from both sides.
The launch coincided with the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Dubai Police General Headquarters and Al-Futtaim Group, the exclusive agent of BYD in the United Arab Emirates. The memorandum was signed on behalf of Dubai Police by Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, and on behalf of Al-Futtaim Group by Mr Yousef Al Raeesi, Director of Government Affairs.
The memorandum aims to develop the second generation of 'Ghiyath' patrol vehicles based on DENZA B8 plug-in hybrid vehicles, combining advanced security technologies, performance efficiency and environmental sustainability. It will support police patrols with more sophisticated smart vehicles that enhance response speed, raise the efficiency of field operations and meet the requirements of future security work.
His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Al Marri affirmed that Dubai Police is keen to achieve leadership among police agencies worldwide by equipping its operational system with the latest technologies and advanced equipment that contribute to enhancing the safety and security of community members.
He noted that the partnership with Al-Futtaim Group and BYD contributes to realising the aspirations of developing the second generation of 'Ghiyath' smart patrols, and to bolstering Dubai Police's fleet with Ghiyath smart patrols equipped with the latest technologies and designed to achieve optimal security performance in their policing and security operations.
His Excellency added that "this strategic partnership comes within the framework of a commitment to harnessing innovation in developing sustainable security solutions that support Dubai's future vision and contribute to building a smarter, more efficient and more sustainable security transport system."
