The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has announced the expansion of capacity at 7 truck rest stops located across various areas of the emirate, through the addition of 364 parking spaces — an increase of 56% — bringing the total number of spaces at these facilities to 1,007 truck parking bays.

The expansion works included increasing the number of truck parking spaces at Al Ruwayyah Second rest stop by 107 spaces, Lahbab Second rest stop by 90 spaces, Lahbab First rest stop by 47 spaces, and Al Tai rest stop by 18 spaces.

Al Ruwayyah First rest stop gained 15 additional spaces, and Hind City Second rest stop gained 27 spaces, while expansion works at Nad Al Hamar rest stop, which will add 60 spaces, are currently still under way.
