In response to directives issued by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, regarding the deployment of Agentic AI in government services and operations, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has announced the integration of this technology across a number of its digital platforms, including its website, smart app, Smart Office employee application, data dashboards, and other internal platforms.
In its first phase, the implementation focuses on service design, the digital customer experience, experience quality monitoring, and the Centre of Excellence for testing digital systems — reinforcing DEWA's position among the world's leading service entities in the advanced practical application of Agentic AI.
His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, said: "This step represents a qualitative leap towards reshaping government services in the age of artificial intelligence, through the transition from traditional digital interaction models to an integrated service ecosystem connected to global AI platforms, raising efficiency, accelerating delivery, and enhancing the quality of the digital experience for customers and stakeholders."
His Excellency affirmed that DEWA continues its measured expansion of these technologies in accordance with the highest standards of governance, security, and privacy, in support of the targets set by the UAE Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2031 and the UAE Centennial 2071.
This step is an extension of DEWA's proactive approach to anticipating national priorities and translating them into practical applications with a direct impact on services and operations. Having established the necessary technical and digital infrastructure for this transformation at an early stage, DEWA was able to activate its Agentic AI capabilities immediately upon the announcement of the new government directives.
