His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, has underscored the importance of completing one's dream, desire, and ambition with work and diligence.
Speaking in a video posted by the official account of the Dubai Government Media Office on the X platform, His Highness said: "We want the first thing you have to be desire and ambition, but there is one important thing — work."
He added: "You have a dream, you have a desire, you have ambition, you have will, you have ability, you have knowledge — you need one final thing: work."
His Highness said: "If you have all of this, then complete it with work and diligence, so that we may see you capable of achieving it."
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, may God protect him, recently launched the 'Dubai It' initiative to transmit Dubai's philosophy of action to future generations and entrench it as a work culture across the state's institutions and companies — one built on swift, precise achievement and the delivery of exceptional results in record time.
His Highness affirmed that speed does not mean haste, and quality does not mean slowness, and that ambition is only fulfilled through execution. He noted that work and achievement require a pace that does not imply rush or recklessness, but rather the delivery of results in record time, and that excellence should not be an obstacle to accomplishment.
He also urged the application of the concept of ambition, which must be realised in practice.
His Highness pointed out that Dubai has become synonymous with achievement and the delivery of exceptional accomplishments within a remarkably short timeframe, just as it transformed from a desert into a world-class city.
The 'Dubai It' initiative has served as an inspiring model for coming generations to continue the journey of construction and innovation, and to reinforce the global standing the emirate has achieved.
