Al Jalila Foundation has received a donation of 9 million dirhams (AED) from the Issa Saleh Al Qurq Charity Foundation to renovate Ward No. 2 in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Women's Health at Latifa Hospital, which is affiliated with Dubai Health, under the 'Fund of Hope' initiative.

The donation was formalised through a cooperation agreement signed at Al Jalila Foundation's headquarters, in the presence of Dr Rajaa Issa Al Qurq, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Issa Saleh Al Qurq Charity Foundation, member of the Dubai Health Board of Directors and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Jalila Foundation, and Dr Amer Sharif, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Health.

Also in attendance were Dr Hanan Al Suwaidi, Deputy CEO and Chief Academic Officer at Dubai Health and Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs at Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences; Dr Amer Al Zarooni, Executive Director of Al Jalila Foundation; Dr Mona Tahlak, Chief Medical Officer at Dubai Health; and Dr Mohammed Al Awadhi, CEO of the Women and Child Health Complex at Dubai Health.

Dr Rajaa Issa Al Qurq said: "This agreement reflects the Issa Saleh Al Qurq Charity Foundation's commitment to supporting initiatives that leave a positive and sustainable impact on society, and stems from our belief in the importance of developing the infrastructure of healthcare facilities."

Dr Amer Al Zarooni said: "Through the 'Fund of Hope', we continue to work with our partners to develop healthcare facilities and enhance the therapeutic environment in ways that serve patients and their families."

Dr Mohammed Al Awadhi said: "This support will help raise the efficiency of facilities dedicated to the care of women and newborns at Latifa Hospital, enhancing the quality of care provided to mothers and their children and ensuring their needs are met during one of the most important stages of their lives."
