Dar Al Ber Society has launched its seasonal campaign "Summer of Benevolence", which includes a range of humanitarian and developmental initiatives and projects aimed at strengthening community solidarity and meeting the needs of beneficiary groups during the summer season, within the framework of its mission to entrench the values of giving and sustainable charitable work.
The campaign comprises 4 main initiatives, foremost among them the Mosque Care initiative, which aims to provide a more comfortable environment for worshippers and visitors to houses of God by installing shade canopies at a number of mosques, carrying out necessary maintenance works, and providing cold drinking water to worshippers during the summer months.
The campaign also includes the Wells initiative, which targets the provision of safe drinking water to needy communities in a number of countries through the implementation of well-drilling projects and support for well endowments, contributing to a sustainable water source and improved living conditions for beneficiaries.
The campaign further includes an initiative dedicated to supporting workers during the summer season by providing a number of essential necessities to help them cope with rising temperatures, including chilled water tanks, cold towels, and bottles of cold water, thereby enhancing their safety and comfort while performing their work.
The fourth initiative, "Safe Homes", targets support for modest-income and needy families through the implementation of housing maintenance works and the provision of air-conditioning units and refrigerators.
In addition, it contributes to settling electricity bills for families who are unable to pay, helping to provide them with a dignified and stable life. Yousef Al Yateem, Assistant Executive Director for the Zakat and Community Development Sector, said that the "Summer of Benevolence" campaign embodies the Society's commitment to investing seasons of goodness in launching quality humanitarian initiatives that meet the actual needs of beneficiaries inside and outside the country, and contribute to enhancing quality of life for the most vulnerable groups.
He added that the projects included in the campaign were carefully selected to address pressing requirements during the summer season, focusing on providing comfort to worshippers in mosques, securing water sources for needy communities through well projects, supporting workers by providing supplies that help them cope with rising temperatures, and assisting modest-income families through housing maintenance, the provision of essential electrical appliances, and the settlement of electricity bills.
Yousef Al Yateem affirmed that these initiatives reflect the Society's vision of implementing projects with a sustainable humanitarian impact that help alleviate the suffering of those in need and entrench the values of solidarity, compassion, and giving, noting that the success of these projects depends on the combined efforts of philanthropists and supporters who have played a prominent role in delivering goodness to the largest possible segment of beneficiaries.
