The activities of the "Capacity Building in Media and Diplomacy" programme have underscored the importance of empowering young national talents and enhancing their readiness for the demands of media and diplomatic work.
The programme, organised by the Dubai Youth Media Council, launched its activities yesterday in strategic partnership with the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy, marking the second collaboration between the two sides.
Through their joint efforts, both parties reaffirm their commitment to investing in national talent by offering a specialised training experience that combines academic knowledge with practical application, contributing to the preparation of a generation of young people capable of keeping pace with the rapid transformations in the media and diplomacy sectors, and crafting impactful messages that reflect the United Arab Emirates' standing regionally and internationally.
The programme attracted remarkable interest, drawing 700 applications, from which 30 participants were selected based on criteria centred on competence and excellence, to ensure a high-quality training experience that sharpens participants' skills and develops their professional capabilities.
Participants began the first day with a training workshop entitled "Media Crisis Management in the Age of Artificial Intelligence", presented by media professional Mohammed Al Dhaferi. The workshop addressed the most significant transformations taking place in the media sector amid the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence technologies, and examined mechanisms for handling media crises and managing communication messages efficiently, in ways that enhance responsiveness while preserving credibility and professionalism.
Participants also took part in a field tour of Dubai Media Incorporated studios, during which they observed the workflow across various media facilities and the advanced technologies and capabilities they house to support content production in accordance with the highest professional standards. This gave them the opportunity to gain first-hand familiarity with the media work environment and content production processes.
Shaikha Ahmed, Executive Director of Human Resources at Dubai Media Incorporated, affirmed that the programme embodies the commitment to investing in young national talent by providing an integrated training environment that keeps pace with the rapidly evolving media and communications sectors.
She added that the collaboration with the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy helps broaden young people's horizons by combining academic knowledge with practical experience, consolidating their skills in strategic thinking, media message management, and effective communication.
She stressed that empowering national talent represents one of the core pillars of Dubai Media's strategy in preparing a generation capable of innovation, creating impactful content, and representing the United Arab Emirates effectively across various forums.
Abdulaziz Al Jasmi, Chairman of the Dubai Youth Media Council, affirmed that the programme reflects the Council's commitment to investing in young people by equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills in media, communications, and diplomacy, enabling them to represent the country with competence and confidence.
He noted that the collaboration with the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy embodies the integration of national efforts in preparing a generation qualified for the demands of the future, and capable of keeping pace with the transformations taking place across the media and diplomatic landscape.
Aisha Al Nuaimi, Vice Chairwoman of the Dubai Youth Media Council and one of the programme's participants, explained that the collaboration with the Academy represents a qualitative step in supporting the journey of preparing Emirati youth and enhancing their awareness of the pivotal role that media plays in shaping public consciousness and crafting impactful messages.
She emphasised that investing in national talent constitutes a fundamental pillar for strengthening the country's competitiveness in the media and diplomacy sectors. The programme's activities are scheduled to continue until 8 July, concluding at the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy's headquarters in Abu Dhabi with a graduation ceremony that will include a showcase of the most notable projects and training outcomes as well as recognition of participants — a step that reflects both parties' keenness to prepare young national cadres equipped with the tools of modern media, communication, and diplomacy, and capable of contributing to shaping the future of both sectors in the United Arab Emirates.
