Brigadier Jumaa Salem bin Suwidan, Director General of Traffic at Dubai Police, has called on road users to ensure the safety of vehicle components and to inspect and monitor the condition of tyres, particularly during the current period of the year when temperatures reach their highest levels, and as a large number of community members travel overland by car across long distances in varying conditions.

He noted that amid the high temperatures witnessed during the summer period, vehicle drivers must ensure that all safety and security measures are in place in their vehicles and carry out periodic inspections, in addition to adhering to traffic laws and regulations while driving. He pointed out that police agencies across the country are conducting intensive traffic awareness and enforcement campaigns during this period.

Brigadier Jumaa bin Suwidan highlighted that the General Directorate of Traffic at Dubai Police recorded 3,589 violations related to vehicle safety during the first 5 months of this year, comprising 1,737 violations for driving a vehicle that does not meet safety and security requirements, 1,026 violations for driving a vehicle unfit for road use, and 826 violations for defective vehicle tyres while in motion.
