Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chief of Police and General Security in Dubai, received a copy of a doctoral thesis on the use of artificial intelligence technologies in control and inspection procedures in customs crimes from Dr Mohammed Abdullah Al Ali, Director of the Land Ports Oversight Branch at the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security.
The thesis examined the role of artificial intelligence technologies in supporting control, inspection and investigation procedures in customs crimes in accordance with UAE legislation.
The study also highlights the most prominent AI applications used in detection and analysis and their role in enhancing the efficiency of customs work. It aims to provide a scientific vision that contributes to the development and improved efficiency of customs operations in confronting emerging challenges and crimes, and to keep pace with contemporary security and technological developments.
His Excellency expressed his thanks to Dr Mohammed Abdullah Al Ali, during a reception held in his office, for this valued dedication, commending the subject of his thesis and its importance, and wishing him every success. Major General Ahmed Al Maqoudi, Director General of the Office of the Deputy Chief of Police and General Security in Dubai, attended the meeting.
