The Museum of the Future has announced an open call to the public in the United Arab Emirates and around the world to submit innovative ideas and proposals that will contribute to designing the next generation of its experiences and future content. The initiative comes as part of the museum's preparations for a new phase of comprehensive development and renewal, coinciding with the fifth anniversary of its opening as one of the world's most prominent landmarks dedicated to foresight and showcasing the opportunities and challenges of the future.
The initiative falls within the Museum of the Future's vision to strengthen its role as a global platform that brings together scientists, innovators, thinkers, technology pioneers and change-makers from across the world, contributing to the development of innovative ideas and solutions to humanity's greatest challenges, and delivering interactive experiences that explore the future of vital sectors and emerging technologies and their impact on communities and generations to come.
His Excellency Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Chairman of the Museum of the Future, affirmed that the museum represents a uniquely Emirati model for transforming future foresight into a sustainable institutional practice that combines knowledge, innovation, technology and human imagination.
"Unlike traditional museums that document what happened in the past, the Museum of the Future focuses on what could happen tomorrow, and on the opportunities that science, technology and innovation offer for building a better future for humanity," he said. "The future is not an abstract idea we wait for — it is a reality we shape through science, knowledge, imagination and action."
He added: "The United Arab Emirates has established a global model for transforming future foresight into tangible plans, projects, initiatives and achievements. Today, we want to broaden the circle of participation in designing the future, because the best ideas that can change people's lives may come from any individual, anywhere in the world."
His Excellency also explained that the next phase of the Museum of the Future's journey will focus on delivering more interactive and in-depth qualitative experiences that showcase the major transformations set to reshape all aspects of human life over the coming decades, and highlight the latest innovations and scientific and technological discoveries that will affect economies, societies and quality of life.
Al Gergawi added that engaging the community in designing future experiences embodies the UAE's approach of partnership, openness and human empowerment. "We believe that a better future is built when ideas from different cultures, experiences and disciplines come together to create solutions that serve all of humanity," he said.
The Museum of the Future announced that all individuals in the UAE and around the world can share their ideas through the museum's official social media pages, and that proposals will be evaluated and drawn upon in ongoing plans, the details of which will be announced at a later stage.
Since its opening in February 2022, the Museum of the Future has continued to cement Dubai's status as a global hub for the future and innovation, and as a platform that embraces creators, scientists, innovators and technology pioneers from around the world, providing a space to explore the promising opportunities brought by rapid scientific and technological transformation.
