The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai has announced that total donations collected through digital and licensed channels during the first half of 2026 exceeded 530 million dirhams (AED), across more than 30,000 donation transactions conducted through the emirate's licensed charitable organisations. The figure reflects the sustained growth the charitable sector in Dubai is witnessing, as well as the success achieved in advancing the digital transformation of the donation-collection ecosystem and developing its channels in line with community aspirations and the needs of charitable bodies. The results also confirm growing donor confidence in official approved channels and a rising level of awareness of the importance of directing donations through licensed platforms, which ensure support reaches those entitled to it within clear regulatory frameworks, thereby enhancing the efficiency of charitable work and the sustainability of its humanitarian and societal impact.

This growth comes within the framework of an integrated system that the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai is developing in cooperation with licensed charitable organisations, through the adoption of the latest digital solutions, the enhancement of the donor experience, and the provision of safe, reliable, and easily accessible channels. The department is also continuing its efforts to strengthen integration between regulatory, technical, and awareness-raising dimensions, contributing to raising the efficiency of the charitable sector and broadening the base of community participation in supporting humanitarian initiatives.

The department attaches particular importance to reinforcing the principles of governance and transparency in the donation-collection sector through a comprehensive regulatory and legislative oversight system that ensures compliance with approved regulations and controls, and consolidates trust between donors and charitable organisations. These efforts also contribute to protecting donors' rights, enhancing integrity and reliability, and raising the efficiency of charitable resource management, thereby achieving the highest levels of impact and sustainability.

Mohammed Mosbah Dahi, Executive Director of the Charitable Work Sector at the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai, said: "These indicators reflect the success of efforts aimed at developing an advanced digital charitable system that keeps pace with Dubai's future aspirations, contributes to enhancing the efficiency of charitable work, and raises the level of trust and transparency in donation management, ensuring that their humanitarian impact is maximised and that they reach those entitled to them in accordance with the highest standards of governance."
