His Excellency Dr Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defence, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee of the Federal National Council, has affirmed that recent developments in the region have once again demonstrated the strength of the UAE's institutions and their capacity to handle regional challenges and shifts with efficiency and competence.

He said the events also reflected the cohesion of Emirati society and its unified stance behind the wise leadership. He noted that the country has presented, during the recent period, an advanced model of institutional preparedness and proactiveness, owing to a far-sighted strategic vision established by the wise leadership that has contributed to building a comprehensive national system founded on readiness and strengthening society's confidence in its institutions.

This came during his participation in a dialogue session titled "What Comes After the Crisis?" as part of the 11th edition of the UAE Media Forum, held yesterday in Dubai under the theme "UAE: A Red Line".

During the session, which was attended by His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Hamed, Chairman of the National Media Office, and Her Excellency Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Deputy President and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and President of the Dubai Press Club, he said:

"Major crises do not only reveal the capabilities and potential of states; they also reveal the strength of the value systems upon which societies are built and their ability to remain cohesive and steadfast in the face of challenges."

He noted that the UAE had demonstrated during this period that it possesses deeply rooted institutions and a clear strategic vision capable of dealing with various circumstances with high efficiency and great flexibility.

His Excellency Dr Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi affirmed that what had been achieved during the recent period was not a situational response to events, but rather the result of sustained institutional work and a far-sighted, forward-looking vision established by the wise leadership — one that has contributed to building an integrated national model founded on readiness, proactiveness, and strengthening society's confidence in its national institutions.

He stressed that national sovereignty represents the fundamental pillar of the UAE's approach, and has always been at the forefront of national priorities established by the wise leadership, affirming that protecting the state's sovereignty and preserving its security and stability form the foundation of any development and future-oriented project. This is an approach the state continues to translate into tangible reality through building strong institutions, enhancing their readiness, and cementing its standing as a global model of stability and development.

He explained that the UAE's strategic objective is to build a better future for coming generations, noting that achieving this goal is linked to the existence of a stable, secure, and prosperous region — which explains the state's approach of building partnerships and extending bridges of cooperation with all, and strengthening common ground among communities and peoples of the region towards a better future.

Regarding the role of the media, His Excellency affirmed that the UAE media had presented an advanced professional model of responsibility and composure in handling events, maintaining professionalism and credibility, and delivering a media discourse that reflects the state's values and constants, contributing to reinforcing social stability and fortifying public awareness against rumours and misleading information.

He added that the battle for awareness has today become an essential part of the national security system, and that states capable of protecting the awareness of their societies and strengthening their citizens' trust in national institutions are best positioned to face challenges, achieve stability, and continue on the path of development. He called on media professionals to pursue accuracy and uphold professional responsibility, stressing that the true scoop lies not in the speed of publication but in the correctness and credibility of information.

On the contours of the coming phase, His Excellency affirmed that the most important question does not relate solely to how to overcome the crisis, but to how to benefit from its lessons and build on the strengths it has revealed, noting that the coming phase requires continued investment in people, enhancing national readiness, and entrenching a culture of proactiveness and planning for the future.

His Excellency Dr Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi concluded by affirming that the UAE will remain strong through the vision and guidance of its wise leadership, the unity of its people, the awareness of its society, the competence of its institutions, and its adherence to its national values and constants. He stressed that preserving these gains is a shared responsibility that requires continued work, solidarity, and rallying around the state's vision and future ambitions.
