Media leaders and content creators have affirmed that UAE media demonstrated high readiness and professional capacity to handle challenges during the recent crisis, noting that the past period saw the launch of specialised media initiatives that strengthened media presence and contributed to supporting institutional coordination.
In detail, Maryam Al Mulla, Director of the Dubai Press Club, said that the 11th edition of the UAE Media Forum, held yesterday under the slogan "UAE is a Red Line", reflects national media's commitment to protecting the country's achievements and reinforcing credibility and professional responsibility.
Al Mulla told Emirates News Agency (WAM) on the sidelines of the forum that its sessions witnessed rich discussions with the participation of senior officials and experts, covering diverse media issues that contribute to developing the media sector and envisioning its future.
She noted that UAE media plays a pivotal role that goes beyond delivering news to spreading awareness and enhancing transparency and public trust, praising the efforts of media professionals, media institutions, news platforms, and content creators who were honoured in recognition of their contributions to disseminating positive messages and serving society.
Hamid bin Karam, Editor-in-Chief of Al Bayan, affirmed that UAE media proved during the recent crisis its high readiness and ability to deal professionally with challenges, through effective coordination between media institutions and relevant government bodies, which contributed to delivering a balanced and responsible media message.
He explained that the regulatory frameworks and media legislation in force contributed to managing the crisis professionally by defining roles and responsibilities and consolidating standards of professional media work, in a manner that reflects the image and values of the United Arab Emirates.
Hamid bin Karam highlighted the importance of specialised media in conveying facts and explaining developments across various fields, pointing out that the past period witnessed the launch of specialised media initiatives that strengthened media presence and supported institutional coordination.
For his part, Ibrahim Balhoul, a content creator specialising in artificial intelligence, affirmed that the crisis demonstrated the UAE community's awareness and its ability to deal with information responsibly, stressing the importance of relying on official sources and verifying the accuracy of news before sharing it.
He noted that content creators focused during the crisis on simplifying accurate information and educating the public on ways to distinguish between genuine content and content produced using artificial intelligence tools, thereby helping to limit the spread of misinformation.
He emphasised the importance of verifying and confirming the accuracy of information before republishing or engaging with it, calling on social media users to apply logic and research when dealing with digital content.
