His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai, has affirmed that the 'Dubai Actions' initiative — launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him — embodies the philosophy of wise leadership based on turning ambitious visions into tangible achievements, and entrenches a work culture that makes exceptional accomplishment the benchmark for performance, and speed of execution and quality of outcomes a testament to Dubai's distinction among cities of the world.
His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer said: "The 'Dubai Actions' initiative documents the unique philosophy of leadership in transforming ambitions into exceptional real-world achievements — a philosophy that has made Dubai a global model for turning challenges into opportunities, and ideas into pioneering projects that have delivered sustainable developmental, economic and social impact." He pointed to the words of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum at the inauguration of the Dubai Metro Route 2020 in July 2020: "We say what we do, and we do what we say" — an inspiring message for all, individuals and public and private institutions alike, to continue working in the spirit of Team Dubai, which believes that nothing is impossible in Dubai's dictionary.
He added: "At the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), we draw from the vision of wise leadership an institutional approach built on converting major ambitions into tangible achievements that deliver a positive and sustainable impact on the lives of the community. This philosophy has been embodied in a series of strategic projects that have reshaped the mobility and infrastructure landscape of the emirate — from the Dubai Metro Red and Green Lines, to the completion of Route 2020 on schedule despite the exceptional challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, to the implementation of the Dubai Metro Blue Line, which represents a new milestone in the development of the public transport network, and the announcement — amid the exceptional circumstances the region has witnessed — of the Dubai Metro Gold Line."
He noted that the 'Dubai Actions' philosophy also encompassed the implementation of landmark projects that have marked defining moments in the emirate's development journey, such as the Dubai Water Canal, which connected Dubai Creek to the Arabian Gulf, the Infinity Bridge, and an advanced network of roads and bridges that have enhanced connectivity between key districts and elevated mobility efficiency to the highest international standards.
His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer affirmed that what distinguishes Dubai is its ability to continue launching major projects while simultaneously anticipating the future. At the start of this year, the city began operating self-driving taxis, and is preparing to launch commercial operations for air taxis by the end of this year, alongside pressing ahead with the Dubai Loop project. He noted that these projects and initiatives confirm that the future is built through action, work and innovation — which is what has made Dubai a leading model to be emulated in envisioning and shaping the future.
