Brigadier General Dr. Khabeer Hamdan Al Ghassiya, Director of the Future Foresight Centre at Dubai Police, received, in the presence of his deputy Lieutenant Colonel Omar Khalifa Balabeida Al Suwaidi, a delegation from the sixth cohort of the Future Experts Programme under the Dubai Future Foundation.

At the opening of the meeting, Brigadier General Dr. Khabeer Hamdan Al Ghassiya welcomed the visiting delegation, affirming the Future Foresight Centre's commitment to cooperation across numerous aspects and activities, including scientific work, the preparation of predictive assessments, and the identification of expected dimensions of future foresight.

Al Ghassiya briefed the visiting delegation on the centre's principal objectives and organisational structure, highlighting its vision, mission, values, and creative ideas and initiatives that contribute to the development and improvement of institutional performance. He also addressed the operational mechanism of the Strategic Foresight Room and the process of issuing reports in light of future trends and challenges.

Al Ghassiya explained that the Future Foresight Centre possesses staff distinguished by their expertise and competencies, which supports the preparation of advanced scientific curricula and the organisation of newly developed training courses through which trainees can be equipped to deal with modern developments and current security challenges. He noted the centre's distinguished efforts in the fields of future foresight and early warning, planning and implementing awareness programmes, and analysing their returns and outcomes — contributions that elevate policing performance, stimulate innovative thinking, help achieve creative developmental goals, and improve police services across various domains.

The delegation also visited the General Department of Forensic Evidence and Criminology, where they were introduced to its various departments and divisions, the work methods employed, best practices, initiatives, latest developments, and ongoing and future projects, in addition to research, publications, and the latest technological advances in the field of forensic evidence.

The delegation was briefed on the role of the International Centre for Forensic Sciences in supporting forensic evidence research at the regional and international levels, as well as the training courses it provides.

The delegation also reviewed the suite of smart and innovative services offered by Dubai Police through the Smart Police Station (SPS), which provides integrated police services around the clock without any human intervention, enabling the public to complete their forensic, traffic, certificate, permit, and community service transactions in accordance with international standards.

In conclusion, Brigadier General Dr. Khabeer Hamdan Al Ghassiya emphasised the importance of such meetings, which aim to consolidate and unify coordination efforts from all bodies and institutions in the country, in order to strengthen joint efforts and maximise the impact of their outcomes for society and its development.
