The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai has inaugurated the Hajj Hussein Faris Issa Al Badad Mosque in Dubai Industrial City, in support of quality of life and to reinforce Dubai's standing in the care of houses of God and service to the community.

The mosque, donated and funded by philanthropist Faris Hussein Faris Al Badad, is built in a Fatimid architectural style that blends Islamic heritage with modern functionality. It stands on a land area of 7,253.09 square metres, at a total cost of 13 million dirhams (AED), and has a capacity of 1,461 worshippers.

The department affirmed that the inauguration of the mosque embodies its pivotal role in planning, constructing, and managing mosques in accordance with the highest engineering and operational standards, keeping pace with the emirate's urban expansion and meeting the needs of residents.

In a separate development, the department has launched the "Zad Al Muslim Al Fiqhi" series, which will begin the day after tomorrow at the Maktoum Centres for the Holy Quran and its Sciences in Nad Al Sheba 4, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The series targets community women and female students of the centre, every Thursday, with the aim of sustaining religious learning, consolidating jurisprudential concepts in a scholarly and systematic manner, and entrenching jurisprudential culture through Sharia rulings related to women's daily lives.
