Al Jalila Foundation has received a donation of 10 million dirhams from Dubai Islamic Bank, drawn from zakat funds, to support healthcare programmes, medical education, and scientific research.
The donation reflects Dubai Islamic Bank's continued commitment to supporting meaningful community initiatives and providing real opportunities that contribute to improving quality of life in the United Arab Emirates.
It also reinforces the efforts of Al Jalila Foundation, which plays a pivotal role in embodying the "Healthy Dubai" vision of advancing human health through an integrated approach encompassing care, learning, discovery, and giving.
The donation was announced during a visit by Nawaf Al Reisi, Director of Community Support Services at Dubai Islamic Bank, to Dubai Hospital, where he met with Dr Amer Al Zarooni, Chief Executive of Al Jalila Foundation, and Dr Omar Al Marzouqi, Chief Executive of Dubai Hospital.
Al Reisi said: "Dubai Islamic Bank continues to consolidate its community role by embracing and supporting humanitarian and developmental initiatives that contribute to improving quality of life and empowering various segments of society."
Dr Amer Al Zarooni affirmed that charitable work constitutes a fundamental pillar in supporting the healthcare sector and enhancing its sustainability, adding that it reflects the deeply rooted values of social solidarity in the United Arab Emirates and helps enable patients to access appropriate treatment.
Dr Omar Al Marzouqi noted that the bank's donation will help enhance the hospital's readiness to deliver advanced healthcare services within a therapeutic environment built on best practices and medical standards.
