The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has announced the approval of a new update covering the expansion of sectors and areas eligible for licensing new driving institutes and branches in the emirate, in a move aimed at developing driver training and licensing services and extending their reach to more newly developed residential areas.
The expansion represents a further step in the authority's drive to build an integrated infrastructure for training and licensing services, in line with Dubai's ambitious plans to enhance road safety and raise the quality of services provided to emirate residents, while keeping pace with the rapid urban and population growth the emirate is experiencing and ensuring residents have easy access to driving education services.
The list of newly eligible sectors now includes Wadi Al Safa, Jebel Ali, Mushrif, Al Maktoum City, and Hind City, opening new investment opportunities for existing institutes and investors wishing to enter this vital sector. Accredited institutes and prospective investors may submit applications to open new branches in accordance with the approved regulatory standards and requirements.
Ahmed Mahboub, Executive Director of the Licensing Agency at the Roads and Transport Authority, said: "The approval of the new update stems from the authority's commitment to meeting the needs of residents in emerging areas and facilitating their access to driving education services without having to travel long distances." He affirmed that the expansion serves Dubai's vision of making the city easier and safer to navigate.
He added that the authority will provide support to new investors, along with a degree of flexibility in reviewing their applications.
