The 'High Water Consumption Alert' service — one of the most prominent digital tools helping customers detect water leaks early and address them quickly — has achieved savings of more than 66,989,000 cubic metres since Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) launched it in July 2018.
These figures reflect the authority's efforts to implement proactive plans to reduce waste, yielding tangible results on the ground. The savings translate the initiative's effectiveness and success in cutting wastage and protecting resources.
DEWA provides the 'High Water Consumption Alert' service, which falls under the Smart Response initiative, to help customers detect any leaks in water connections after the meter. Real-time notifications are sent to the customer whenever the smart meter system detects an unusual spike in consumption, prompting them to carry out the necessary maintenance work.
The 'High Water Consumption Alert' is one of DEWA's initiatives aimed at making Dubai the smartest, happiest, and most sustainable city in the world. The authority is committed to adopting an integrated strategy to encourage members of the community to embrace a conscious and sustainable lifestyle, preserve precious natural resources, and raise awareness of ways to improve electricity and water consumption efficiency.
DEWA also provides the 'Consumption Assessment' tool, which offers customers a questionnaire on their electricity and water consumption, enabling them to evaluate their usage. Upon completing the assessment, customers receive a detailed report on their consumption.
