Brigadier Issam Ibrahim Al Awur, Deputy Director of the General Directorate of Traffic at Dubai Police, has stressed the importance of strengthening integration and coordination with strategic partners to reduce traffic accidents, through studying their causes, analysing their indicators, and devising appropriate solutions — in support of efforts to advance the emirate's road safety framework.

He noted that heavy vehicles are an important element in supporting economic and developmental activity, which necessitates adherence to the highest safety standards by all relevant parties, through compliance with traffic regulations, conducting periodic vehicle inspections, ensuring driver readiness, and raising their awareness of potential risks while driving.

This came during a coordination meeting he held with Mohammed Al Azn, Director of the Traffic Safety Section at the Traffic and Roads Corporation of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), and Abdullah Al Mehri, Director of the Monitoring Section at the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), attended by directors of sub-departments within the General Directorate of Traffic and relevant officials from the Authority.

The meeting discussed traffic accidents in which heavy vehicles are a causative party, reviewing the most prominent data and statistics related to them, as well as analysing the causes of their occurrence and the conditions and factors influencing them. The meeting also discussed a number of proposals and recommendations related to developing follow-up and monitoring mechanisms.
