The main committee of the 'Courts of Goodness' initiative at Dubai Courts held a meeting chaired by Judge Khalid Al Mansouri, President of the Execution Court and Chairman of the Courts of Goodness Committee, to review and follow up on the committee's work and examine the latest developments in this regard, in the presence of the chairpersons and members of the sub-committees established under the initiative.

The meeting discussed updates on completing the organisational structure of the 'Courts of Goodness' initiative in accordance with Resolution No. 79 of 2026 issuing the regulations governing the work of the initiative and its affiliated initiatives, which aim to provide financial assistance to convicted persons subject to final judgements who have defaulted on payment and meet the prescribed conditions, within the framework of developing an integrated system to support the most needy groups and achieve social welfare.

Judge Khalid Al Mansouri affirmed that the 'Courts of Goodness' initiative represents an advanced model for integrating judicial work with social responsibility, by providing an organised framework that enables philanthropists to contribute to supporting insolvent debtors in civil cases, in a manner that takes into account the legal and humanitarian dimensions of the cases presented and reinforces the values of solidarity and compassion within society.

He explained that the issuance of a comprehensive regulatory framework for the initiative, the formation of specialised committees, and the establishment of an organisational unit to manage its affairs reflect Dubai Courts' commitment to entrenching the governance of humanitarian and institutional work, and ensuring that applications are studied according to clear criteria, thereby contributing to enhancing the stability of individuals, families, and society.

The meeting also reviewed the regulatory framework for the initiative and its affiliated initiatives, issued by Dubai Courts with the aim of strengthening the spirit of social solidarity, providing support to eligible beneficiaries, and helping them overcome financial challenges and emergency circumstances. Discussions also touched on the strategic objectives of the initiative, including a focus on directing services and support to those entitled to them through procedures characterised by transparency and integrity.

The review covered the integrated organisational structure of the initiative and the mandates of its sub-committees, foremost among them the main committee of the 'Courts of Goodness' initiative, which is responsible for general oversight of the initiative's affairs and for ruling on applications from defendants unable to make payment.

During the meeting, the committee reviewed 33 cases submitted for the initiative's services, approving 19 applications that met the established conditions and criteria, while a number of applications were not approved due to incomplete conditions or failure to meet the specified requirements under the initiative's regulatory framework. The total value of financial claims for the cases reviewed exceeded 2.6 million dirhams (AED), while the efforts of the negotiation committee succeeded in reducing the total by approximately 40% to 1.5 million dirhams, reflecting the effectiveness of the negotiation mechanisms.
