Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has launched its annual summer awareness campaign under the slogan "Enjoy a More Sustainable Summer", aimed at encouraging customers to take advantage of the tools DEWA provides to manage their electricity and water consumption intelligently and efficiently during the summer months, and to highlight a range of innovative digital services and solutions that offer real-time data to help them make more sustainable decisions.
In line with DEWA's policy of supporting sustainability and the green economy, and consistent with its adopted circular economy model, the campaign includes a comprehensive set of awareness and engagement activities targeting various segments of the community, contributing to greater awareness of the importance of responsible resource use and embedding a culture of sustainability.
In addition, DEWA is organising a series of lectures and awareness and engagement sessions in collaboration with government and private sector institutions and companies in Dubai, to enhance the role of individuals and organisations in supporting the emirate's sustainability and climate action goals.
The campaign also includes interactive competitions on DEWA's social media platforms, aimed at encouraging community members to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives, while giving participants the chance to win valuable prizes by engaging with the campaign's awareness content.
The campaign highlights a range of smart services and solutions that allow customers to monitor their consumption proactively, and take appropriate measures to reduce waste and improve consumption efficiency.
DEWA has invited customers to make use of its "Smart Living" initiative, which features an interactive dashboard on the authority's website and smart app. The dashboard provides access to bill details, tariff brackets, and daily, weekly, and monthly electricity and water consumption data, helping customers understand their consumption patterns and take appropriate action.
The "High Water Consumption Notification" service enables early detection of potential post-meter leaks by sending instant alerts when an unusual spike in consumption is detected.
To ensure customers' peace of mind while travelling or on summer holidays, DEWA offers an "Away from Home" feature that sends periodic consumption reports and alerts via email on a daily or weekly basis.
