The Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police participated in a community event dedicated to Asian communities at Abu Dhabi Sports Club, as part of its ongoing efforts to promote traffic awareness and spread a culture of road safety across all segments of society, in support of Abu Dhabi Police's strategic priority of "Smart Road Security".
Brigadier Saif Hamad Al Zaabi, acting director of the Directorate, affirmed that Abu Dhabi Police's participation in community events stems from its commitment to strengthening community partnership and enhancing traffic awareness through awareness messages delivered in multiple languages, contributing to higher compliance with traffic and road regulations, reducing accidents, and protecting lives and property.
He explained that the event included awareness workshops covering the most important traffic laws and regulations, the importance of adhering to speed limits, wearing seatbelts, safe pedestrian crossing, as well as warnings about the dangers of using a mobile phone while driving due to the direct threat it poses to road users' safety.
He noted that the event also featured interactive programmes targeting families and children, focusing on the importance of regular vehicle inspections — particularly tyre checks during the summer season — and raising awareness of the risks associated with the use of electric bicycles (scooters) and the necessity of complying with safety procedures.
The event saw wide engagement from attendees, with the Happiness Patrol distributing gifts to the public as part of efforts to promote concepts of happiness and positivity and to entrench a traffic-conscious culture among members of the community.
