The General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat has announced details of its fifth annual summer programme, 'Our Mosques: Fortress and Faith 5', under the slogan 'Our Summer… Knowledge and Happiness'. The programme runs from 13 July to 13 August and comprises 14 initiatives.

The programme aims to make productive use of the summer holiday by reinforcing religious and social values, consolidating Emirati identity, and developing religious, intellectual, and cultural awareness among all segments of society.

His Excellency Dr Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, said that making productive use of the summer holiday is a national responsibility shared by all state institutions, emphasising the Authority's role as an active and strategic partner in building a generation that combines adherence to religious and national principles with the benefits of knowledge and the application of advanced technologies and artificial intelligence in the service of society and the advancement of the nation.

He affirmed that channelling the energies of community members and developing their intellectual and cultural capacities is a sustainable investment, explaining that this year's summer programme translates the Authority's vision of reinforcing the mosque's mission as a beacon of knowledge and values and building a more aware and cohesive society. He added that it aligns with the objectives of the Year of the Family, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God preserve him, through the crafting of qualitative initiatives that place the family at the heart of the educational and awareness process, to strengthen social cohesion and draw inspiration from authentic values.
