The Sharjah Scouts Commission has launched its 2026 Summer Recreational Scout Camp under the slogan "Our Children and Summer", in a move aimed at transforming the summer holiday into a milestone for building skills and discovering talents. The programme, which runs until 30 July at the commission's headquarters, combines modern technologies with scout, educational and recreational activities.
The camp offers a comprehensive summer experience that goes beyond traditional entertainment, through a package of programmes in tune with the demands of the future. Foremost among these are artificial intelligence and digital skills, alongside sports, artistic and scouting activities, as well as field visits to a number of national institutions — all contributing to the personal development of participants and the strengthening of their leadership and social capabilities, while cementing the values of responsibility and teamwork.
The camp is organised within the framework of the Sharjah Scouts Commission's drive to invest young people's leisure time during the summer holiday in quality programmes that combine education with practical application, providing a safe and stimulating environment that supports creativity and innovation, and contributing to the preparation of a generation equipped with the skills of the future — without straying from authentic scout principles and values.
The camp benefits from strategic partnerships with a number of government and media institutions, among them the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, the Sharjah Government Media Office as represented by Sharjah24, Emirates News Agency (WAM), various other national media institutions, the Youth Centres Administration, Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club, Sharjah City Municipality, the Public Works Department, and a number of institutions hosting field visits — reflecting the integration of community efforts in support of programmes directed at young people.
Nasser Obaid Al Shamsi, Deputy Chairman of the Emirates Scouts Association, International Commissioner, Chairman of the Sharjah Scouts Commission and patron of the summer activity, affirmed that the camp embodies the commission's vision of preparing a generation that combines awareness, knowledge and skill. He noted that the slogan "Our Children and Summer" reflects a national responsibility to invest the energies of young people during the summer holiday through quality programmes that strengthen their characters, equip them with the skills of the future, and instil in them scout values, a spirit of initiative and a sense of belonging.
