The Air Wing division of the Ras Al Khaimah Police General Command has continued to strengthen its operational readiness and its role in supporting the emirate's security and humanitarian framework, having carried out 51 aerial sorties during the first half of the current year. The missions ranged across search and rescue operations, support for government agencies, and training patrols, as well as other field tasks, reflecting the command's commitment to rapid emergency response and enhancing community security and safety.
Major Pilot Abdullah Ali Al Shahi, head of the Air Wing division at Ras Al Khaimah Police, confirmed that these sorties form part of the General Command's strategy to maintain the highest levels of operational readiness and ensure permanent preparedness to carry out diverse tasks with efficiency and professionalism, thereby contributing to the security and safety framework and serving community members under all circumstances.
He noted that the Air Wing operates according to continuous operational and training plans that guarantee rapid response to reports and incidents, adding that all missions are executed under the supervision of specialised crews of pilots and navigators possessing extensive experience and high competencies, which enhances the division's ability to handle a variety of field scenarios with efficiency and effectiveness.
Al Shahi affirmed that continuous training represents one of the division's fundamental pillars, as the aerial cadres are committed to implementing training programmes and regular patrols to maintain full readiness, raise performance levels, and ensure swift intervention in emergency situations — all of which is reflected in the quality of security and humanitarian services provided by the Air Wing.
He added that the Air Wing plays a pivotal role in supporting the progress of police and security work in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah through aerial support for security operations, participation in search and rescue missions, and providing assistance to government agencies when needed, reinforcing integration among various institutions and ensuring rapid handling of reports and emergency situations.
Major Al Shahi called on visitors to mountainous areas and wadis to adhere to safety procedures, given the notable rise in temperatures and humidity during the summer season, and to avoid venturing into rough and dangerous locations. He stressed the necessity of carrying sufficient quantities of drinking water and informing family members of trip routes before setting out, emphasising that compliance with preventive guidelines helps preserve everyone's safety and reduces the occurrence of incidents requiring rescue operations.
He indicated that Ras Al Khaimah Police continues to develop its aerial capabilities and raise the readiness of its specialised teams in line with best practices in emergency response, enhancing its capacity to protect lives and property and consolidate security and safety across the emirate.
