His Excellency Major General Ahmed Saif bin Zaitoun Al Muhairi, Commander-General of Abu Dhabi Police, visited the Special Patrols Directorate, where he was briefed on the readiness of field units and operational capabilities that contribute to enhancing security and safety, as part of efforts to strengthen field preparedness and elevate the security work system.
His Excellency also reviewed the mandates and functions of the Special Patrols Directorate, encompassing special patrols, the Mounted Police Division, and the Environmental Police, as well as their role in supporting the security system and improving the speed and efficiency with which reports and field missions are handled.
He was also given a briefing on work mechanisms, modern equipment, and training and qualification programmes that enhance the competencies and readiness of the directorate's personnel, alongside the Environmental Police's efforts in protecting the environment and preserving natural resources.
His Excellency stressed the importance of investing in the development of national competencies and strengthening field readiness, in a manner that supports the policing system, raises performance efficiency, and reinforces the proactive security apparatus to maintain community security, safety, and quality of life.
The visit was attended by Major General Mohammed Suhail Al Rashidi, Director of the Forensic Security Sector; Brigadier Khalid Abdullah Al Khoury, Director of the Decision-Making and Institutional Development Sector; Brigadier Dr Hammoud Saeed Al Afari, Deputy Director of the Forensic Security Sector for Administrative Affairs; and Lieutenant Colonel Khalid Khalifa Al Hamli, Director of the Special Patrols Directorate.
