Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, has awarded Her Excellency Maria Camilleri Calia, Ambassador of the Republic of Malta to the UAE, the Order of Independence, First Class, on the occasion of the conclusion of her tenure as her country's ambassador to the UAE, in recognition of the efforts she exerted during her term, which contributed to the development and strengthening of relations between the two friendly nations across all fields.
Her Excellency Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, conferred the decoration upon the ambassador during a meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters, where she affirmed the UAE's keenness to strengthen relations with the Republic of Malta across various fields.
Her Excellency expressed her best wishes to the ambassador for success in her future work, commending her role in enhancing the distinguished relations between the UAE and the Republic of Malta.
For her part, Ambassador Maria Camilleri Calia expressed her gratitude and appreciation to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, praising the level of progress achieved in relations between the two countries, and extended her thanks to all parties for the cooperation she received, which had a positive impact on the success of her mission in the country.
